Current Trends in Window Treatments

So what are the current trends in window treatments? I hear this question everyday when I am with clients. As consumers, we want to be on the cutting edge and not stuck in a trend that is pointing downward.

So far in 2015, there has been an emphasis on a crisp and clean look. Patterns are making a comeback with their geometric, floral, linear, and trellis designs all with bright and bold colors. Sheers are still popular but now have a subtle look with new interwoven and natural materials that have embossed or printed patterns that run through. The last shades making a push are roller shades. They have come a long way and now have gorgeous materials that are sleek, simple, and elaborate.  There are so many choices these days for window treatments, so make sure you chose one that work for you. Remember, you can always change them down the road.

What Is This Fad With Layered Treatments?

Believe it or not, shutters are very reasonable in the grand scheme of window treatments.  There are 2 major reasons why people think shutters are so expensive; one is because a lot of them deal with designers who jack up the price and two there are not a lot of retailers who both know and sell shutters properly. This unfortunately makes it very hard for people to get a good feel for the product.

At the end of the day, the cost for shutters is less than a lot of romans, woven wood, and roller shades. As well as custom-made fabric cornices.  Just think about it, for a little bit more than a wood blind, you can get a shutter that will last virtually forever. Yes, I said it, a shutter will be the last product you put on that window. For expert advice, come in and see us at The Shade Shop.
